Jennifer M
Potter

Yep, that’s my real last name. I love exploring different media, but avoided pottery for most of my life because it’s just a little too obvious, you know? But I’m an illustrator, and before long I starting itching to take my 2D art to new dimensions. In the winter of 2021 I took my first class at The Potters Guild of Baltimore. I soon fell in love with the artform and the community, too. I’ve learned so much from excellent teachers like Jen, Anna, Diane, and Diana, but I know I’ve only scratched the surface. Pottery is such a fascinating mix of art and chemistry. They say clay has a memory, but after hearing some of the MacGyver-esque ways people tackle it (maybe try hairspray and a microwave?) I realized it has a sense of humor, too!

When I’m not sculpting things to paint on, I’m illustrating picture books, puzzles, greeting cards, and magazines. I live in Hampden with my lovely husband and my dog-shaped goblin, Frisket.
