Artist Statement

Functional ware is my focus: pots that can be used in the home, for the kitchen, for flowers, for entertaining. Recently I've explored sculptural directions using the eastern coil method to create larger scale, abstract pieces. These asymmetrical works challenge me to integrate technique and design decisions.
 
I live and work in Columbia, Maryland, having established a studio here in 1976.  Methods of firing include oxidation, reduction, and salt/soda.  My work can also be seen at the Artists Gallery in Columbia
