CLASSES: SPRING SESSION 2008
Fall Session: From week of March 31st to week of June 16th
Classes at the Guild
Students will receive individual instruction based on experience, as well as group instruction.
All levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced. Some classes focus on hand building, others
focus on throwing on the potter's wheel, and some cover both types of clay techniques. A
brief biography of the instructors is given below with the class schedule. Classes run one day
per week for 12 weeks. Please call the guild or the instructors for more information. Click on

Classic Clay with Amanda Martorana
Mondays, 7 pm - 10 pm
Cost: $200 for 8 weeks(with the option of extending for the extra $100)
$300 for 12 weeks;
plus $25 materials fee

Amanda holds a BA and MFA degree in Ceramics and is fairly new to the Baltimore area. Her work is both functional and sculptural. Amanda has taught courses to both youth and adults for over 6 years, and incorporates a variety of methods in her classes with the goal of finding the best solutions for each individual’s interests and style. All levels are welcome and encouraged!

Throwing & Handbuilding with Nancy Brady Tuesdays, 7 pm - 10 pm Wednesdays, 7 pm - 10 pm Cost: $300 plus $25 materials fee Call Nancy at 410.433.3302
Nancy has been a member of the Guild since 1960 and has been teaching here for 28 years. Not a production potter, Nancy enjoys creating one-of-a-kind functional pieces in porcelain and stoneware and uses slab building and other hand-building methods as well as the wheel. Beginner through advanced students will feel comfortable with the student-designed syllabus guiding individual inspiration.

Clay with Vicki McComas
Thursdays, 11 am - 2 pm Cost: $300 plus $25 materials fee Call Vicky at 410.327.6635 Join Vicki in creating functional or sculptural works, utilizing
hand-building and/or throwing techniques. Make works that
warm both the heart and the soul. Vicki’s love for clay spans
more than 30 years and reflects the world around her in
extraordinary ways. She is a graduate of Maryland Institute
College of Art and has been in their Continuing Studies
program since 1985. All levels are welcome and lunch is included!
Throwing & Finishing Pots with Rob Bilek Thursdays, 7 pm - 10 pm Cost: $200 for 8 weeks (with the option of extending for the extra $100)
$300 for 12 weeks;

Rob is a graduate of Maryland Institute College of Art, where he garnered numerous awards. He has thrown on the potter’s wheel since he was a child and has taught both children and adults for over four years. His handson approach helps students realize their potential and develop skills with ease in a relaxed studio environment. All levels are welcome!
Open Studio
Sundays 9 AM-12 noon
Cost: $180 plus materials (if purchased at the Guild) Call the Guild at 410.235.4884 Participants must have experience in all aspects of studio processes. A facilitator will be present, but no instruction will be given. No beginners and no production potters, please.
The Potters Guild follows Baltimore City’s policy for school closures due to snow
No Additional Firing Fee - Cash or checks preferred
A class that fails to meet the minimum enrollment may be cancelled. If you need to
withdraw, do so on or before the second time the class meets to receive a full refund.
After the second class, no refunds will be given. |

Class Registration
Please call the instructors with questions about specific classes,and to register for classes.
Alternatively, call the Potters Guild (410-235-4884). Payment is due by the first class
meeting. With the exception of the Fun Day with Clay classes, our current classes are for
adults - please inquire about classes for children. Major credit cards accepted.
Our studio is wheelchair accessible.
